When buying a NCAA® hat to support your Mountaineers, consider what type of style and fit meets your needs.

Fitted, flex and adjustable are the different sizing options to choose from when looking for a casual game day hat. Fitted hats have specific pre-defined sizing. Flex or stretch hats feature elastic around the internal rim for a snug fit. An adjustable hat can be resized to fit almost any head size and features a VELCRO®, fabric slide closure or plastic snap closure. Knit hats and beanies come in one size and can stretch to fit or give you different coverage.

Hats can be structured or unstructured. Structured hats refer to the upper crown of a hat and tend to be less flexible and have a higher profile. An unstructured hat is usually softer or worn in for a more casual, broken in look.

Knit hats and beanies are perfect for colder temperatures, while visors and other seasonal hats can keep you cool on warmer game days.

When buying a Mountaineers hat, fit can be the biggest challenge. Fitted hats come in several specific sizes. This varies from brand to brand but usually ranges from size 6¼" through 8½". Flex hats provide a stretch fit and can come in generalized letter sizes or one size fits most, depending on brand.

Almost all fitted, flex and adjustable hats are constructed from six panels with eyelets. These provide a more comfortable fit and allow ventilation. For unbeatable breathability, you should look for specific technology or an internal sweatband. Certain Nike® performance hats with Dri-FIT® in the fabric and adidas® hats with CLIMALITE® technology move moisture away from the head and keep you dry and cool longer.
