[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First took out to get some metal stakes into the ground. Granted the ground was really hard and compact., but it broke after about 15 swings. The Rubber piece just came right off. If you're using this, make sure its on soft ground.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well for staking tents and also for removing stakes using the hook on the other side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Reasonably priced. I usually use a regular hammer for tent stakes but it's definitely easier to get the stakes in with the wider and softer mallet head.
Mallet with stake puller
Stack puller bent straight out trying to remove tent stakes

Used for staking down the tent, and the hook is handy for removing the stakes when done. Did it's job well.

I bought this for a camping trip and it broke on our last day when we were using it to pull up stakes. Not very good workmanship.

I used it once for a tent and once for some yard game poles before the handle snapped at the neck. I don't feel like I was being too rough with it, but I guess that's what you can expect from a $3 hammer.

Pure and simple, it's a hammer; a hammer that won't mar nor damage what it hits. It's useful for driving tent stakes, target stands, a baton for splitting wood etc.

Works well as a hammer. The hook park bent on first pull making that side useless. It needs to be a stronger gauge metal hook to work.

It's a rubber mallet. With an eyehook for pulling tent stakes. It works exactly like you think it should. If you're price and quality shopping on a rubber mallet, I have no advice for you.

I bought this product after having used a hammer not meant for the job. The mallet has a good sized surface for making contact with tent stakes and the hook on the end of it, makes it very easy to remove them from being buried in the ground!

After purchasing the mallet, I had to remove the hook from the handle (it would snag or get in the way) I kept the hook, so I could hang it up. Mallet worked great on stakes.

It's a simple tool, but this classic rubber mallet with the tent stake puller is exactly what I was looking for. A competitor (ahem) had only the plastic version (same brand I think), so I was tickled when Dick's had my mallet of choice. Worked like a charm, as expected, last weekend when I pitched & struck my tent.

Worked so well... And the hook worked great for pulling tent pins out!

Perfect for driving in tent stakes without bending the stakes. The hook on the end is helpful to pull them out, though I'm afraid it will get hooked on something a rip or tear the tent if stored in the bag alongside the tent (like I would prefer). But can't beat the price.
