[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After running my speed runs for few weeks in these shoes, I can say they feel great. I was a bit concerned about the fit since some reviews stated they were narrow in the midfoot area, however I didn’t notice that, and I have relatively wide feet (I do buy one full size bigger running shoes). The shoes feel snug, as they should, and the toebox feels very comfortable. PEBA foam gives solid responsive cushioning, and they feel very stable. If you train like me in Glycerine gts, and seek stability, this is a fast shoe for you!

I am an exclusively faithful Brooks runner. The Glycerin has been my go to for 8 years and I also have a pair of the first gen Hyperion Max. I purchased the Elite 5's as a back and eventual replacement for the Max's, but they are a completely different shoe. Super lightweight and well-cushioned, but it wears like an aqua sock with a very light mesh upper and practically no heel lock-in without tightly using the heel lock eyelets. I have used the shoes on 3 runs for 4-5 miles each and have a hot spot on the left foot that won't break in. This is the first pair of Brooks that I have ever owned that were not comfortable and ready-to-run out of the box. I've done some research since and it seems that the Hyperion line-up significantly changes from release to release, so if you are thinking of buying the Elite 5's based on a positive experience with a previous version, do some homework and try them on in a store.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great for race day runs or race day test runs. They are light and and springy. I would not recommend as a daily trainer if you need support, as they can feel wobbly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not understanding the great reviews on this shoe. I have been trying to replace my Hyperion max with a lightweight shoe and a snappy return. I thought this would be my answer. This is not even real material on the top of the shoe, more so a stiff weave. When I stood up in them, I felt like there was a tennis ball under the forefoot that would roll me in all different directions. I could totally picture me falling in these. Please bring back the regular Hyperion max. The ratings were also very high. :)

I read about them in Runners Magazine and decided to get them for that race. They are extremely light and comfortable. I'll only wear them a few times for break-in prior to that race. So far I like them a lot.
