Perfect Fit But Not Good For The Wind On A Chilly Day

I love the color (blue slate) and the fit of this jacket, and I’ve used it for hiking a few times. Since Brooks often changes designs (colors and styles), I bought a second one in black just in case especially I wear xs. Right before I received the new order, I had a chance to test it on a chilly, slightly windy day, and I realized it doesn’t perform well in windy conditions. Wearing additional layers underneath defeats the purpose. I’m also not interested in running in the rain. For the fit and color: 5stars For the wind: 3 starts.

Great Wear

Very effective and practical, I’m confident going out and not worrying about what kind of weather the day will turn out.

Disappointed

I had read several positive ratings on this jacket, but I am very disappointed in how light weight the material is. I was hoping to use this on windy winter runs in Michigan, but this jacket offers little to no wind resistance or warmth. I have running shirts thicker than this jacket, so I don’t know what conditions this jacket would even be good for.

Canopy Jacket Strap Removal

Overall, I love the jacket. The one feature that I would like to see changed is removing the straps that go into the pouch on the back. I will never fold this jacket up and carry it as designed so I cut them off and they no longer bother me when I run.

Great Light Weight Jacket

Great light weight jacket that does well in the rain. I would like it better without the ability to pack it up. The straps are stored in the back between the shoulder blades and are uncomfortable if sitting or leaning against something like a seat in a car.

Best Investment

Awesome jacket. Has kept me warm at 20F with merino baselayer. Has shed light rain with ease, and keeps majority of wind at bay. Love how quiet it is.

Great Jacket, Versatile

Bought this as a gift for my partner. It’s light and comfortable for workouts, but also looks good with a pair of jeans or worn as a light layer when traveling. He is slim build and the fit is spot-on.

Not Bad, Just Not In My Rotation

I like that this jacket folds up into a convenient storage pouch. I haven’t been able to use it much I have other items that seem to work better for the temperatures in my area. I thought it would be a good outer layer for fall or spring temps.

Great Jacket, But Not Reflective.

This is a great jacket. Trim fitting, enough room in all the right places, very lightweight and packable. The only reason I did not rate five stars is because there are no reflective patches on it. I think that would be a nice addition. And the zippers could be a little more sturdy.

Worth The Investment

This jacket is worth the investment. High quality weatherproofing makes it a perfect outer shell and I can layer under that to fit the conditions. Perfect for keeping out the winter wind and rain we get so much of where I live.

A Quality Jacket

A quality jacket that does all that it advertises, however it sits a bit short at the waist. An extra 3/4 to an inch of fabric would make it perfect.

IshakA

great looking jacket with lot of pockets. it is useful for rainy/ windy days. For real cold it is not enough by itself, you have to layer it.

Great Jacket But Not Waterproof And Buttons Could Be Reinforced

I waited until I had this jacket for at least a year and all 4 seasons to write a review. Overall, I like the jacket but there are a few things to note. Highlights: The jacket is lightweight, feeling almost papery thin. It works great as my primary running and XC ski jacket, and my everyday jacket in the fall and spring. I find it works as a perfect running outer layer over a sports tee in the temp range from ~25F to 45F and up through warmer temps for casual use. The fit is loose enough to comfortably layer an added longsleeve for colder temps but fitted enough that the silhouette is not baggy on my fairly thin "runners build". The hood and 3 zippered pockets are appreciated! The buttons under the main zipper are super useful for airflow if you start getting warm and they keep the jacket from flapping wildly around as you run. All running jackets should have these buttons. Cons: The buttons need to be more solidly placed. The long end is placed in fabric that is doubled back and works well. However, it's button partner along the zipper is simply placed through one layer of fabric and it ripped through the first time I unbuttoned it. You really need to hold tight along that button to prevent any damage when unsnapping. Some needle and thread worked to seal up the tear on my damaged button. Second, this is not a waterproof jacket. Curiously, I noted that web searches, including results showing products from the Brooks site, list it as waterproof but the actual product page on the Brooks site does not make this claim. At first, water beaded up and shed readily, but whatever coating or fabric magic did this wore off after a few months. Water soaks through fairly readily now in a decent rain.

Jacket Weather?

My husband loves this jacket so much he had me order another. I have the women’s version and it’s a great, super light weight jacket that provides just enough protection and warmth when you aren’t sure if it’s jacket weather or not
