Light, Plush And Ready For Race Day

I bought the Brooks Hyperion Max 3 earlier this month and have taken them out twice for my 10 km training runs, and I'm already impressed. The cushioning is fantastic: soft and protective underfoot, but still with a lively, responsive feel that keeps me moving forward. They're also incredibly light, so my legs feel fresher towards the end of a run, and the upper breathes really well, so my feet stay cool and comfortable the whole way. On top of the performance, they simply look great. The clean white design with the subtle grey Brooks branding is sleek and stylish, both on and off the road. After just two runs I feel confident these shoes will carry me through my training as I build up to my 20 km goal. Highly recommend them to anyone after a cushioned, lightweight shoe that's comfortable and looks good too!

Fast

The Hyperion Max 3 has quickly become one of my favorite shoes. At easy paces it’s comfortable and smooth, but the shoe really comes alive when you start picking up the pace. The faster I run, the more I notice the energy return and responsiveness. Despite being a faster shoe, it still feels surprisingly stable. The heel lockdown is excellent, and I feel secure even when cornering or pushing harder efforts. The cushioning gives plenty of protection without making the shoe feel sluggish. I recently raced a 5K in them and ran a 24:34 PR, and they felt fantastic at race pace. They made faster running feel smooth and natural without needing a carbon plate. Pros: responsive, lightweight, excellent cushioning, good stability for a performance shoe, and great energy return. Cons: not quite as exciting at very easy paces, and the medial cutout can be noticeable at first. Overall: 9.5/10. An excellent choice for tempo runs, intervals, racing, or anyone who wants a fast and responsive shoe without going all the way to a carbon-plated racer.
