Brooks Men's Hyperion Max 3 Running Shoes

About This Item

    What Our Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve run in a lot of shoes over the years, but the Hyperion Max has quickly become one of my favorites—and honestly, it just fits the way I like to run. What I love most is how fast this shoe feels. The moment you pick up the pace, it really comes alive. It’s lightweight, responsive, and has that forward roll that just keeps you moving. It’s not one of those overly soft, sink-in shoes—it’s more of a firm, snappy ride, which I personally prefer because it feels efficient and race-ready. The cushioning is a sweet spot for me. There’s enough there to handle longer runs without beating up your legs, but it never feels heavy or sluggish. It’s the kind of shoe that makes you want to push the pace a little more than you planned. That said, it’s not perfect—and I get why some people might not love it. The fit runs a bit narrow, and it’s definitely built for neutral runners. Also, this isn’t the shoe I reach for on easy, slow days—it really shines when you’re moving with purpose. Bottom line: This is my go-to when I want to feel quick, efficient, and locked in. The Hyperion Max isn’t trying to be everything—and that’s exactly why it works so well. It knows what it is: a fast, no-nonsense training shoe that delivers when it matters." - Peter, DM at DICK'S Sporting Goods Miami and Orlando

Great For Running

Great for running, especially when trying to run a good time. Not super comfortable for daily wear but that’s not what they’re built for.

Very Comfy Shoe On The Road

One of the best shoes I've had in a very long time, so good underfoot. I had to get a second pair as a back up. Best buy to date!

Hyperion Max 3

Bring back the hyperion max 2 please. Comparatively this shoe feels firmer, but less springy, and way less stable. After reading many reviews i fely this might be more my style than the 4 and more aimilar to the 2 which i love. At 45 km. my easy runs have been fine and i didnt mind them. I have just completed a hilly long run and im not so sure now. any terrain that is not level (cambered) is more challenging than it should be, i really felt it in my ankles. I for flat speed sessions i think they will be good, hilly marathon pace long run did not feel great. Having run similar terrain in the hyperion max 2 and the hyperion 3 these will now be 3rd choice

Solid Tempo Shoes

20kms in and so far very happy. Laces cld be a bit longer as i use a runners knot, but the shoes feel responsive underfoot. Currently using for 10km training.

Much Less Leg Fatigue From Hyperion 2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan of the Hyperion series for a long time. The Hyperion 3 was a huge miss for me. The Max 3 has turned into a fair substitute. The 2mm difference in drop was an easy adjustment. The added cushion proved to decrease my leg fatigue dramatically on my most recent 24hr event. I was genuinely surprised how much better my legs felt! I normally size up 1 size in running shoes, and actually need to go 1.5 up in these, because the stretchy upper is very tight. Overall, recommend, but still wish they would bring back the 2's!

Hyperion Lives Up To Hype

Noticed a significant spring and bounciness in my step, great for my interval training but also across longer distances. Feels like an extra hidden buff. Would buy again. They look really cool, got some friends and family who want to steal them off me 😂

Comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Favorite daily trainer. Comfortable and does a good job saving the legs . I like the sock like upper . Good for mellow long runs and temp efforts as well

Jury Out, But It’s Starting Off As A Fine Star Win!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been running three years now, (I didn’t start till I was in my 50’s, so keep that in mind) and while I don’t plan on a marathon, I run my pup everyday I can, which is frequently everyday, about 3.5-4 miles. Anyway, I am considering a half marathon in the next couple of years, and so I am trying to get some longer runs in as well adding some speed to my runs. I tried a mildly plated shoe (saucony) last year, and I liked the way they felt underfoot, but I couldn’t handle the way the shoestrings bit into my upper foot, and trying a different tying scheme didn’t help. These were on a significant sale and I figured the extra stack height could make them more comfortable on longer runs. Bottom line - after about 5 shorter runs, these are not my favorites, but they are working up. The max cushion means these aren’t going to be super speed shoes, but my joints appreciate the padding. If you want a gentle step into a slightly faster shoe (glycerin’s are still my favorite), give these a try!

Firm High Stack And Fast Mover

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super nice fit! Pretty comfortable. It is a bit firm for a Max cushion shoe. If you are looking for a faster high stack shoe this is a great option. If you are looking for soft and squishy for long runs this might not be your jam.

Hyperion Max Always Impresses!

I've recently upgraded to the Hyperion Max 3s after the 2s and I can't complain. The Hyperion Max lineup from Brooks is solid and they are a fantastic shoe for long distance efforts and especially when pushing the pace.
