Great, supportive shoe. I've been using the 990's for year for daily walks. It is my go to shoe for everything. Works well with an orthotic. I did find the shoe fits large and had to go down a full size with the v5 to v6 change.

Bought the 990s for my wife for walking and casual wear. She like the fits and support the shoes offer. I have a pair of 990s I bought 5 months ago. I was dealing with plantar fasciitis. I went to the New Balance Store in Austin Tx. the salesman talked me into trying the 990s on I immediately noticed the difference in support and construction of the shoe I was sold. Well worth the money IMO.

I'm 46 from Miami and have used every name brand shoe, but this is the most sturdy, yet comfortable shoes: the heel is sturdy, the foot arch is supported, there's no pronation or supination just level balance and support. Made in USA 70% too.

Got these for my mom she loves them very comfortable. Even used them on hikes when her other shoes gave her blisters. Told me she never slipped.

The shoe is incredibly well constructed and comfortable. Knocking a star off due to the color—the "Sunset" color looks much more orange on screen than it does in person. These are salmon shoes at orangest—not even coral, really—borderline pink in natural lighting. Returned due to color but the 990v6 itself is perfect.

Very well made shoe that I wanted to love but couldn't. The toe box was wide enough, the length was perfect and for once I found a shoe that fit through the heel. However, the shoe rubbed a raw spot on my inner ankle that just was not tolerable. Sadly, I had to send the shoes back.
