I just got this today, I bought the 8/9 for my 8 year old because that is his typical size. It actually fits my 5 year old (he is average size). I am ordering again but going up 2 sizes. Hope it works because it’s a sharp looking hoodie: my 5 year old really like his surprise hoodie.
