I had high hopes for this top given the reviews and my wife's past experiences with Smartwool's hooded shirts for athletic use. I purchased these (3 of them) for mountain biking and trail running during warm weather for sun protection and breathability. Unfortunately I found the fabric to be a much heavier weight than anticipated and not very breathable at all. Honestly they feel a lot like long sleeve cotton t-shirts, and I've found that while using them they feel very hot and quickly become saturated with sweat. They completely failed to meet my expectations and I will be replacing them with a different brand of activewear sun shirt entirely.

This quickly became one of my favorite layering pieces. The fabric feels soft against the skin while staying light and breathable, making it comfortable for everything from hikes to everyday wear. The quality is excellent. Well-constructed and durable. The fit is spot-on: athletic without feeling restrictive, with enough stretch for easy movement. If you're looking for a versatile hoodie, then look no further.

I bought this for hot weather and to work out in. I like the design: the front is the thin, soft material like many of their t-shirts and the mesh parts seem durable and breathable. It fits slightly looser than some of my other size L smartwool, but that's ok since I got it in black and plan to wear it in the sun. It doesn't have a UPF rating, but I've never been sunburned through a shirt before.

I have used the mesh hoodie for mountain biking, hiking, skiing, cool nights while backpacking and it has yet to disappoint. It's super comfortable and works great as a base, mid or outer layer. One of my new favorite shirts for staying comfortable while being active no matter the season.

My people are 6' 6"" so I am one of the ladies who prefers to get the mens shirts since they tend to fit better for casual wear. This does the trick because the sleeves come down to the top of my hand and stay up when I scrunch them to my elbows to keep sleeves out of my sourdough.

Really comfortable fit, not too tight. Plan on using it for backpacking. The back of the shirt offers more ventilation.

I actually got this shirt in error, I normally have the hoodie that does not include the mesh. I have found it to be a very comfortable and lighter weight shirt for summer in Alaska. It is very comfortable and the fabric feels nice.
